    Preparation for Post-Secondary Learning

    The Post-Baccalaureate Professional Certificate in College Teaching and Learning is designed to enhance the teaching competencies of education professionals who seek to effectively develop, implement, manage, and evaluate post-secondary learning environments. Grounded in the latest educational research of best practices in college teaching, the program provides graduate students (from any discipline), community college instructors, adjunct, and full-time faculty at four-year institutions the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge to create engaging learning environments.

    Courses taught by experienced faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership

    Project-based courses with individual and team collaboration

    Faculty who work closely with students to facilitate the hands-on design of the practicum component of the curriculum

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • Completed online application.
      • Fall Deadline: April 1
      • Spring Deadline: October 15
    • Non-refundable $80 application fee (check or money order in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank, payable to UNCW).
    • Official high school (secondary school) transcript, translated into English (translation must be certified).
    • Translated transcripts from institutions attended beyond secondary school.
      • If the applicant wishes to receive academic credit, these transcripts (unless from a U.S. institution) must be evaluated by an accredited credential evaluation service. The applicant must choose a company that belongs to the National Association of Credential Evaluators (NACES).
    • TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or Pearson Test of English score unless:
      • English is applicant's native language.
      • Applicant has completed 2 college-level courses in English composition at a U.S. college or university with a grade of B or higher.
      • A student successfully completes Level 4 in UNCW's ESL program.

    How to Apply

    Common Application: Application option 1 for future first-year students.
    UNCW Application: Application option 3 for future first-year students and students enrolling in an online accelerated program such as RN to BSN or RRT to BSRT.
