Accelerated Master's Degree

UNCW offers a 16-month, accelerated master's degree in data science.

The program is a collaborative effort between departments, the larger academic community and the business community that emphasizes computational-based applications.

Develop proficiency in both a general-purpose programming language and a statistical programming language

Advance skills to build appropriate statistical models to solve real-world analytics problems

Enhance the ability to communicate analytical information effectively that solves data interpretation problems

Be immersed in a team based, 6 month, real world project with an industry or government sponsor

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission for graduate study at the University of North Carolina Wilmington applicants must:

Grade Point Average: Have a strong overall academic record with a B average or better in the basic courses prerequisite to the area of proposed graduate study. Provisional admission may be considered by some programs. Contact the program coordinator for additional information regarding their acceptance policy.
Level: Graduate and undergraduate programs may not be pursued simultaneously.
Online Accelerated Programs (OAP): OAP programs must be pursued independent of any other program.
