The Healthcare Administration curriculum at UNCW prepares early- to mid-level careerists to plan, direct, and manage healthcare services in a broad range of healthcare industries. Our curriculum is competency focused and ensures that the information students are learning is both relevant and directly applicable to their chosen profession within healthcare.

The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) will prepare early to mid-level careerists, by providing transformative learning experiences and foundational knowledge and skills, to serve as effective managers and administrators within a wide range of healthcare organizations throughout Southeastern N.C. and beyond.

Healthcare management is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that jobs in healthcare management are anticipated to grow 18 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Thus, the need for providers and facilities is growing, as the population ages and life expectancy increases due to medical advances. The need for professionals to manage healthcare facilities as a result is rapidly expanding.

To be eligible for admission for graduate study at the University of North Carolina Wilmington applicants must:

Online Accelerated Programs (OAP): OAP programs must be pursued independent of any other program.
