Master of Interior Architecture Track I (for students without a previous degree in a related field):
Our Master of Interior Architecture degree allows students to complete an accredited professional degree in a stimulating academic environment that is characterized by cooperation, rigor, and a commitment to human quality in the interior environment.
Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited four-year U.S. college or university OR hold an equivalent credential from a qualifying international institution.
In this program, students begin coursework in summer and share core design studios and courses with Architecture Track I students thus providing an interdisciplinary context for study and learning.
This program is three years plus one term (or 10 terms), begins in the summer, and is available at the Eugene campus.
A challenging array of topical studios in interior design is paired with a full complement of required courses in design history, materials and construction, color theory, furniture design, and lighting culminating in a comprehensive project completed in the final year of study. Within this framework, students can customize their experience through studio choices offered each term or by enrolling in a wide variety of advanced electives, special studies, and study abroad and off-campus experiences. Students may also choose to earn a certificate, a specialization, or pursue a concurrent graduate degree in Architecture.

Master of Interior Architecture Track II (for students who hold a previous degree in a related field):

Eligible applicants must hold an interior architecture/design or architecture bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited four-year U.S. college or university OR hold an equivalent credential from a qualifying international institution.
Students in this program are placed in Interior Design topical studios and coursework depending on transfer analysis.
This program is two years long, begins in the fall, and is available at the Eugene campus.
A challenging array of topical studios in interior design is paired with a full complement of required courses in design history, materials and construction, color theory, furniture design, and lighting culminating in a comprehensive project completed in the final year of study. Within this framework, track II students can customize their experience through studio choices offered each term or by enrolling in a wide variety of advanced electives, special studies, study abroad and off-campus experiences. Students may also choose to earn a certificate, a specialization, or pursue a concurrent graduate degree in Architecture.
In addition to the general Division of Graduate Studies requirements as listed in the UO Catalog, track II students must fulfill the same professional curriculum requirements of the track I program, but are admitted with advanced standing in studio and subject-area courses. The extent of this advanced standing is determined in consultation with the student's academic advisor before beginning the program. Students can transfer up to 36 credits of design (up to four studios; excluding IARC 588 and IARC 589) and up to 50 credits of subject-area courses. Students will be notified of their course requirements after transcript evaluations have been completed.
