If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, USD's minor in Deaf education may be the right fit for you. Through this program, you will learn how to provide high quality education to those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, with coursework spanning American Sign Language, auditory assistive strategies and technology, language development and more.
With this specialized training, you will be equipped to help address the severe shortfall of professionals trained to serve children with varying hearing levels. Future educators will benefit from this minor, as well as those who are pursuing careers in medicine, allied health fields or other professions that may influence the educational outcomes of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
