University of Southern Mississippi offers the Bachelor of World Languages as a full-time degree delivered on campus at its Gulf Park and Hattiesburg campuses in United States of America. Taught in English and completed over 4 years, the program equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for world languages and related professional fields. Welcome to World Languages! We offer a minor in 18 hours and a major in 30 hours. Take advantage of study abroad opportunities in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Peru. We offer courses online and in-class in several languages and teacher licensure in Spanish or French. For Gulf Coast students we offer French and Spanish online and Spanish on campus. Strong Freshman applicants will present a 2.5 minimum GPA in core academic subjects. It is understood that most foreign education systems do not follow the same core curriculum as taught in U.S. high schools. Therefore, each applicant will be evaluated on criteria particular to the educational system of the country in which they completed their studies. However, it is expected that a college preparatory curriculum include courses in English, Math, Science, and Social Science.
