About Bachelor of Organizational Studies

The University of Tulsa offers a bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree in Organizational Studies through the Kendall College of Arts and Sciences. Organizational Studies is an interdisciplinary major composed of 30 hours of course work designed for those students who wish to study organizational behavior and structure in the public and private realms, without limiting themselves to one of the participating disciplines.

The major blends the disciplines of Communication and Industrial/Organizational Psychology with Management. The aim of the program is to provide students with knowledge and skills that will prepare them for administrative positions in both public and private organizations. The degree requires all students to complete a minor.

The organizational studies major builds on the general curriculum through a variety of courses in communication, economics, psychology, sociology, management and marketing. The interdisciplinary degree allows students to take courses offered by both the Kendall College of Arts and Sciences and the Collins College of Business and provides them with the breadth and depth of knowledge that will help them to understand the complex world in which we live and to succeed in it.

Students are encouraged to participate in internships for credit or study abroad. During the senior year, students complete a senior project worth three credit hours.

Organizational Studies Organizational studies blends the disciplines of organizational communication and industrial organizational psychology with management. By studying organizational behavior and structure in the public and private realms, students acquire the knowledge and skills that prepare them for entry-level administrative positions in both public and private organizations. Requirements and Admission Criteria for Bachelor of Organizational Studies at University of Tulsa

Entry Requirements

Let’s start with your grade point average (GPA). Yale admissions officers will calculate based on your high school transcript, which you’ll submit with your overall application.

Yale, like the rest of the Ivy League and most other colleges, requires either the SAT or ACT for admission. They have no preference between them, so choose the test that’s a better fit for you, thoroughly prepare for it, and plan to take it multiple times.

However, keep in mind that unless you fall into certain privileged categories (athletes, legacies, donors, etc.), your SAT/ACT score should be closer to the 75th percentile than the 25th percentile to ensure you’re maximizing your chances of admission.

TOEFL or IELTS is required of most applicants whose native language is not English.

If you have received (or will receive) an undergraduate degree from a college or university where English is the primary language of instruction, and if you have studied in residence at that institution for at least three years, you are exempt from the English Language Test requirement and are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS.

No exemptions are made on the basis of an advanced degree (e.g. M.A./M.S. or Ph.D.) from any institution.

When you complete your application, you will answer questions about your native language and the primary language of instruction at your baccalaureate institution. If either was English, you will not be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores when you submit your application. No separate documentation is necessary.
