Western Michigan University School of Medicine and Haworth College of Business.

Western Michigan University School of Medicine (WMed) and the Haworth College of Business of Western Michigan University (HCoB) cooperate in the delivery of a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration (Healthcare concentration) degree in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Both WMed and HCoB offer their existing MD and MBA degrees independently and cooperate in a manner that will permit eligible students in HCoB's MBA program to incorporate coursework from WMed's MD program.

General Provisions

All degree requirements of WMed and HCoB are unaffected by the degree partnership program. Each program admits students, conducts graduation audits, and exercises control over its respective academic programs independently. Admission to either the MBA degree or the MD degree does not guarantee admission to the other program.

Academic Credit

Applicants for the dual-degree program must meet all admission requirements and standards of WMed for the MD degree, and all admission requirements and standards of the Haworth College of Business for the MBA degree. Applicants for the dual-degree program may apply at the time of their initial application to WMed, or may apply after acceptance to the School of Medicine by the end of year 2 of the MD program. Applicants may apply to the dual-degree program through the Early Decision Program of the School of Medicine, and will be notified of the school's admission decision by October 1.

Admitted and enrolled students are required to send your official high school or university transcripts and proof of degree before the beginning of the second semester of your studies.

Proof of sufficient funds for the first academic year of study at WMU according to estimated cost of attendance. Proof of sufficient funds is a bank statement in your own name for cost of attendance. If the bank statement is not in your own name, then additionally provide a letter signed by your financial sponsor indicating that they will pay your cost of attendance.

*Official documents are those sent directly to International Student and Scholar Services (I3S) from the issuing institution or testing agency. Hand-carried transcripts will be accepted if in a sealed envelope from the institution. Documents sent by the student cannot be accepted as official.If any original documents are not issued in English, also provide an official English translation of each document.
