Additional Requirements

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and UK universities. The scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at candidates from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study a Masters programme in the UK.

Awards are offered under six development themes:

Science and technology for development
Strengthening health systems and capacity
Promoting global prosperity
Strengthening global peace, security and governance
Strengthening resilience and response to crises
Access, inclusion and opportunity.

Scholarship awards are programme-specific and decided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) on an annual basis. For September 2023 entry, there are up to two scholarships at the University of Exeter, available to eligible applicants entering the following full-time Masters programmes:

MSc Global Sustainability Solutions
MSc Sustainable Business Management (including MSc Sustainable Business Management: Tourism and MSc Sustainable Business Management: Environment)
