Requirements

Additional Requirements

You must have a confirmed place on one of the following courses: BSc Criminology, MA/LLM Criminal Law and Criminal Justice and MSc Criminology. We encourage applicants from non-traditional routes into study and those who help fulfil the College's widening participation and encouraging social mobility mission.

The bursaries will be in the form of a reduction in fees for one year only, though students can apply again for subsequent bursaries the following year. Please note that bursaries for part-time students will be awarded on a pro-rata basis.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of academics in the Department of Criminology, and you may be invited for an interview or asked for additional information as required.

How to Apply

You must have a confirmed place on your chosen course and should submit a 600-word supporting statement along with evidence of academic achievement or the potential for academic achievement (for example: reference letters, a sample of writing and, for those applying for postgraduate courses, a transcript of grades). Your supporting statement should cover why you want to study criminology, why you have chosen the programme that you have, how you plan to make use of your studies once you graduate, and what difference the bursary will make to you. Please use 'Bursary application' as the subject of your email. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of academics in the Department of Criminology, and you may be invited for an interview or asked for additional information as required.
