Additional Requirements

The Cormack Gateway 2 Medicine Scholarship is now available. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of widening access criteria and financial need, to a student commencing a degree in Medicine (MBChB) and who has gained access to their medical degree through the Gateway 2 Medicine (G2M) programme. PLEASE NOTE: It is possible to apply to both the G2M Scholarship AND other Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships. However, applicants will only be awarded one Scholarship and therefore the successful G2M applicant will not be considered for the other scholarships.

You should note that only applicants domiciled in Scotland and classified as Home Fees are eligible to apply for the Gateway 2 Medicine Scholarship. Applicants must have completed the pre-entry year of G2M in 2023 and be starting first year of the MBChB programme at the University of Aberdeen in September 2023.

Preference will be given to students who attended Aberdeen Access specific secondary schools. In the unlikely event this criteria cannot be fulfilled, consideration will be given to other applicants from a widening access background.

The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of socio-economic criteria, as used for entry to the G2M programme, together with any additional factors identified in your personal statement. Academic performance in the G2M year will also be taken into account.
