Just Add You Bursary 2023/24

The Government classes all students as 'Home' or 'International'. This status determines which tuition fees you pay, and which bursaries you may be eligible for. EU students with UK Settled Status at the time of application are eligible for this bursary. If you are an 'International' student, you are not eligible for this bursary You must be a first-year student applying to commence a three- or four-year full time undergraduate programme in autumn 2023.

The University of Sunderland Just Add You Bursary recognises the additional costs incurred for students who do not live on the mainland and travel by air or ferry to study at university. This bursary offers eligible students a £4,050 bursary awarded over three years:

£400 in Year 1, 2 and 3 of study for flights or ferry to and from the mainland, totaling £1,200

£1,600 University of Sunderland managed-accommodation discount in Year 1 of study

£250 StudyPlus credit in Year 1 for the purchase of kitchen and bedding bundle

£150 for summer storage in Year 1 and Year 2 of study, totaling £300

£700 Graduation supporter package on graduation

Awarding Bursaries

This bursary will be automatically awarded to students identified as having a home address within Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Channel Islands and Islands of Scotland following a checking and verification process after enrolment.
