Additional Requirements
Applicants must be classified by the University as Home or Rest of UK for tuition fee purposes. Each scholarship is valued at £20,000. This will contribute towards Home Fees and maintenance costs. NEO Energy may provide mentoring or other internal opportunities. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
The scholarships are open to applicants holding an offer of admission for one of the following campus-based, one-year, full-time degree programmes starting in September 2023:
MBA Energy Management
MSc Energy, Politics and Law
Energy Economics and Law (LLM or MSc)
MSc Oil and Gas Enterprise Management
MScEcon Petroleum, Energy Economics and Finance
MSc Advanced Mechanical Engineering
MSc Decommissioning
MSc Offshore Engineering
MSc Oil and Gas Engineering
MSc Petroleum Engineering
MSc Process Safety
MSc Safety and Reliability Engineering
MSc Subsea Engineering
MSc Geophysics
MSc Integrated Petroleum Geoscience

Please note: It is anticipated that both scholarships will commence in September 2023 (the 2023/24 academic year) but, for applicable degree programmes, applicants commencing study in January 2024 may also be considered. In such cases, applicants must hold an offer of admission for the applicable degre programme commencing in January 2024.
The scholarships are not open to applicants wishing to study the programmes on a part-time basis or online only. Please note, this scholarship is only available for Aberdeen-campus students.
Selection Process
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Selection will be made via application and will be judged by past academic results, personal statement, and academic reference. Academic merit will be judged on previous years' academic performance which should be evidenced by a transcript. University of Aberdeen scholarship panel will consider the applications and shortlist the candidates, thereafter NEO Energy will select the two scholars from the shortlist through either a short interview and/or selection panel. The interview may take place using electronic means if the situation so requires.
