McGill's Scholarships and Student Aid Office offers merit-based entrance scholarships to first-time university students entering a full-time undergraduate degree program.

Transfer, Mature, Diploma, Exchange, Special, Part-time and Visiting students are not eligible for entrance scholarships.

United States High School - MINIMUM A, 4.00 GPA, or equivalent unweighted average over last two years of full-time studies, and a minimum score of 730 in each SAT test or a minimum composite score of 33 in the ACT test and/or rank in top 1-2% of class Overseas High School - MINIMUM A average (approximately 96.0% or equivalent) over last two years of full-time study and/or rank in top 1-2% of class Advanced Levels - MINIMUM of 4 A-Level/CAPE/Pre-U subjects with predicted or final grades of A*A*AA (or equivalent), plus AS (if written) and GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level results also with A grades French Baccalaureate - MINIMUM overall average of 17, with minimum score of 14 in each course International Baccalaureate: 41 subject points (not including bonus points) on predicted or final grades.

For applicants at high schools in Canada or the United States who are completing a high school diploma concurrently with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, the review for admission and scholarship is normally based on high school grades. Predicted IB results are taken into additional consideration on a case-by-case basis.

Selection Process

These scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement, so no separate application is required.

How to Apply

All applicants to McGill undergraduate degree programs are automatically considered for a one-year entrance scholarship provided they meet the minimum academic requirements.

However, you must include the following supporting documents in your application for admission to McGill:

All grades and interim grades granted up to the admissions application deadline date
Subsequent grades (interim or final) forwarded to the admissions office as soon as they are issued.
