Applicants are invited for 3 x full-time Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) in Psychology at the University of Hull (start date September 2023). As a GTA you will receive a 4-year fully funded studentship to undertake a programme of PhD research, while gaining valuable supervised teaching experience across the undergraduate and foundation year programmes within psychology.

The School of Psychology and Social Work is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Psychology is the largest subject area in the school and comprises more than 500 students and 30 staff. Our staff are a diverse, international group of academics and practitioners engaged in multidisciplinary teaching and innovative basic and applied research. They contribute to three core research groups centered on Cognition & Development, Cognitive & Clinical Neuroscience, and Mental Health & Wellbeing.

Three scholarships will be awarded, with applications accepted across these themes:

  • Linking animal psychology to public tolerance of wild carnivore ''pests''
  • A stopped clock is right twice a day: Knowledge attribution across the lifespan
  • Intrusive memories in depression
  • The shape of social cognition
  • Individual differences in reactions to and coping with noise pollution
