Additional Requirements

The Government classes all students as Home or International. This status determines which tuition fees you pay, and which scholarship you are eligible for. Home students are eligible for this scholarship. Overseas Island Isle of Man and the Channel Islands students are eligible for this scholarship. Refugee students are eligible for this scholarship. EU students with UK Settled Status at the time of application are eligible for this scholarship. If you are an International student, you are not eligible for this scholarship.

1. You must enrol on one of the following University of Sunderland Art and Design courses in academic year 2023/24. School of Art and Design

  • BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker: Glass and Ceramics
  • BA (Hons) Animation and Games Art
  • BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Promotion
  • BA (Hons) Fine Art
  • BA (Hons) Graphic Design
  • BA (Hons) Illustration and Design
  • BA (Hons) Photography, Video and Digital Imaging

2. You must make the University of Sunderland Art and Design programme your FIRM Choice.

3. You must demonstrate passion and promise in your artistic field.

As part of the application process you must submit:

A statement of up to 250 words outlining your reasons for choosing your course, your passion for your subject and your aspirations for the future.

Up to five images of your work, to be submitted on Microsoft PowerPoint.

Your submissions will be assessed by the Awarding Committee and selection will be based upon the following criteria:

Demonstrated passion, commitment and an enthusiasm to learn.

Evidence of creative skills and promise within the candidate's chosen field.
