Requirements
Eligible
To be eligible you must:
Be a citizen of Papua New Guinea or demonstrate affinity with the PNG community. In the event of there being no such applicant, applicants of Pacific Islands heritage or affinity will be considered.
Have applied to study an eligible law program at Griffith's Gold Coast campus by the scholarship application closing date.
Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for the Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/double degree or Juris Doctor program.
Be a full-time student starting in Trimester 1 2023.
How to Apply
Process
Apply to study an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework law program at Griffith University.
Apply for the scholarship by the closing date. You will need to include academic records and a personal statement that outlines your merit for the scholarship based on three selection criteria.
A scholarship assessment panel will review your application.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview, either in-person or via video conference.
We will let you know the outcome of your application.
Receiving the scholarship
To receive the scholarship you will need to accept both your program offer and the scholarship by the deadline. If you don't accept the scholarship by the date specified in your Scholarship Letter, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
Once you start studying, the scholarship value will be paid prior to the census date in the first trimester and second trimester of the program.
The scholarship includes a one-month paid law clerkship position at MinterEllison Gold Coast during each year of full-time enrolment (up to a maximum of 4 years). The timing of each clerkship will be agreed to annually by MinterEllison Gold Coast and the scholarship recipient.
