Tim Liang & School of Arts PhD Scholarships in Chinese Art

The School of Arts at SOAS University of London is please to offer two PhD Scholarships in Chinese Art History covering tuition fees for full-time doctoral projects beginning in 23/24 in behalf of Tim Liang. One will cover Home/UK fees & one will cover Overseas fees, in each case for the three years of active research. Preference will be given to research on the arts and material culture of dynastic or pre-dynastic China conducted primarily through art historical methodologies. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to potential supervisors in the School of Arts to discuss their proposals. New applicants only (new admissions).

Candidate criteria

• Open to Home/UK and International Students
• Any incoming full-time student with a project proposal in Chinese Art History
• A distinction at MA Level in Art History or equivalent
• Applicants must have applied to the postgraduate research degree (MPhil/PhD) at SOAS by the time of the application to the scholarship.
• If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the requirements
• Please note that this scholarship does not cover funding or even allow for Pre-Sessionals.

Candidates will be assessed based on their application to the scholarship and academic merit based on the information provided in their application to study (Research Proposal & Personal Statement).
