Newcastle University is pleased to offer 39 Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarships (VCES) for outstanding international applicants who apply to commence full-time Master's studies.

To be considered for the up to 50% scholarships applicants must:

  • be domiciled in of one of the following countries: Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, Mexico, Central America or South America.
  • be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible full-time Master's degree programme at the University's Newcastle city centre campus for the 2023/24 academic year
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above.

Central America - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama South America - Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

To be considered for the 100% scholarships applicants must:

  • be domiciled in Ukraine, India, Ghana or Nigeria
  • be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible full-time Master's degree programme at the University's Newcastle city centre campus for the 2023/24 academic year
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

Selection Process

The University awards Scholarships on the basis of academic merit and other information provided on the Scholarship application form. To be considered for awards, applicants must have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class Honours degree or above. The applicants chosen to receive the awards will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application and may be contacted for additional information.

How to Apply

Awards will be based on fully completed applications received by the closing date. Unsuccessful applications will not be considered for awards at later allocation points.
