If you are from one of the following countries/territories you will automatically be considered for a postgraduate award: Azerbaijan Bahrain Barbados Bosnia and Herzegovina Canada Cameroon Chile Colombia Costa Rica Egypt Ghana Hong Kong India Indonesia Iran Iraq Jamaica Japan Kazakhstan Korea Kuwait Malaysia Nepal Occupied Palestinian Territories Oman Panama Peru The Philippines Qatar Russia Saudi Arabia Singapore South Africa Sri Lanka Sudan Taiwan Tanzania Thailand Turkey UAE Uganda USA and Vietnam.

If you are not from a country/territory listed, your scholarship application will be assessed on a case by case basis and you will automatically be informed if you are successful.

Applicants domiciled in the following countries are automatically eligible for an enhanced scholarship of £5,000: Bangladesh Jordan Kenya Lebanon Nigeria and Pakistan

You will automatically be awarded the appropriate funding as long as you meet our eligibility criteria as set out in the terms and conditions.

Selection Process

Qualifying recipients of the scholarship will receive the award in the form of a tuition fee discount. No cash alternative is available and the award cannot be used in place of any required deposit.

The scholarship is for full-time students who will be based on the Cardiff campus and start their studies in September 2023. The award cannot be used for any other year of entry.

Only self-funding international students are eligible and you must be confirmed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes. The scholarship is not open to students who are in receipt of funding from external bodies such as local Government, charities or private organisations.

How to Apply

To be awarded a Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship you must meet, or exceed, the conditions of your offer. Applicants initially awarded unconditional offers will automatically be granted the scholarship, which will be in the form of a tuition fee discount. This is subject to you meeting our eligibility criteria and deposit deadlines as set out in the terms and conditions.

No separate application for the scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in these terms & conditions, you will automatically be awarded the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship upon enrolment.
