Additional Requirements

Two types of bursaries are available:

Bursaries worth £2,000 for students studying a STEMM subject
Bursaries worth £4,000 for anyone aged 60 or over studying a master's programme in any subject area.
Bursaries are available to candidates applying to full-time (normally one year) and part-time (normally two years) programmes of study.
Where students are studying a Part-time course, the bursary will be applied over two years of study.
The bursaries are non-means tested i.e. will not depend on an applicant's family income

Students in receipt of Health Education and Improvement Wales bursary funding, the NHS bursary and Social Care bursary are not eligible for the schemes.

STEMM students

Students of any age living in Wales in 2022/23 can receive £2,000 to study a master's degree in any science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or medicine (STEMM) subject.

Students aged 60 and above

People aged 60+ living in Wales can receive £4,000 to study a master's degree in Wales in 2022/23.

How to Apply

Eligible students will receive notification of bursary entitlement by the end of October 2022, awarded bursaries will be to contribute towards costs associated with their programmes of study.
