About
In the Master of Engineering in Advanced Manufacturing program students will explore the latest technologies, such as digital manufacturing and additive manufacturing, as well as learn more traditional hardware-based methodologies. As many companies in the automotive, aerospace, and chemical industries, for example, are advancing standard manufacturing practices to include innovative technology, students will be prepared to address challenges and excel in today's competitive business market.
Courses in the digital manufacturing specialization cover such topics as computer vision and image processing, advanced CAD/CAM, and robotics. Core program requirements include computer-integrated manufacturing technologies, design optimization cycle, and statistical process and quality control.

Entry Requirements
Admissions requirements ensure that incoming students are well-prepared and qualified to succeed in their chosen program. Prospective students must review each program of interest to determine whether they meet admissions requirements as outlined in the course bulletin.
English Program Requirements
International students who fit into any of the following categories will be considered to have met the requirement:
- Residents of a country where English is the only official language and who is a native English speaker
- Graduates of U.S. high schools
- Completed the equivalent of Iowa State’s English 150 or 250 with a grade of B or better at an accredited U.S. 2 year or 4 year college or university.
CONDITIONAL ADMISSION
If you meet all admission requirements but do not meet our English proficiency requirements, Iowa State offers conditional admission to attend our Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP). If you would like to enroll in IEOP, on the application choose "I would like to enroll in Iowa State’s IEOP program before I begin the academic study.”
