    About

Sustainability is transforming the automotive sector. Learn the technological skills needed to shape how the future of mobility will look.

Our master's supports you to further your education to specialise in automotive technology. The sector needs people who can lead on sustainable technological solutions for the future of vehicular mobility. Our course helps prepare you for this with systems-thinking approaches to the moral, ethical and sustainability issues the sector faces. You’ll cover areas such as advanced propulsion systems, sustainable mobility and innovation.

We’ll introduce you to key scientific principles and give you specialist insight into the subject to help you build on your existing skills. You'll explore the impact of a range of applications and technologies, analysing past failures and predicting future challenges and successes. You’ll focus on technology roadmapping, supported by holistic assessments such as life-cycle analysis. You'll also study current and future business models, considering how to balance economic growth with impact on society.

We'll set a topical automotive theme at the start of the year that you'll carry through into your studies. This ensures the subject-based units reflect what is happening in industry. It also gives you the benefit of a personalised learning pathway.

You'll experience transdisciplinary learning in group projects, where you'll collaborate with students across our suite of automotive courses. You’ll also tackle real engineering technical challenges with an industrial mentor on an industry-linked research project.
