Course overview

The Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy degree will build your scientific knowledge and clinical skills, using a population-based approach to oral health care.

• Learn how to provide preventative and simple restorative treatments to individuals.
• Discover how oral health and general health are intertwined, developing skills to improve overall individual and community wellbeing.
• Develop critical research skills that will set you in good stead for life-long learning as an oral health professional.
• Gain hands-on experience in our on-campus oral health clinic and simulation laboratory and undertake clinical placements in rural and urban regions across NSW.

Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.

Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.

In the application portal, you can enter the program you wish to study and upload relevant documents needed as part of your application. It is recommended you submit your application a minimum of 12 weeks before your intended semester of trimester start date.

As an Oral Health Therapist you will work independently  within the dental team to provide preventive and restorative dental care within the scope of practice of an oral health therapist.
