    The Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) is a doctoral-level qualification for health professionals of any discipline who seek to support and extend their professional practice through disciplined research.

    Why study the Doctor of Health Science?

    Some senior nurses in advanced clinical roles or professional leadership roles will choose to pursue doctoral studies that are both research-based and professionally engaged.

    The Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) is characterised by commitment to professional integrity and to the development of new ideas or practices at the forefront of the discipline. It is anticipated that students enrolled in this degree will continue in their employment role for the period of their study.

    This is a 360-point programme comprising 120 points in taught papers and a 240-point research thesis. The taught papers, taken at the beginning of the programme, will provide understanding and skills in research methodology, including research methods, data management and analysis, research design, and strategies for translation of research into practice.
