Breaking down this degree
This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending on your specialisation, you’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Business and either the:
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Secondary Education
Specialise in primary education and you’ll be able to teach across the school curriculum, with an in-depth knowledge of business. Specialise in secondary education and you’ll qualify as a specialist teacher of accounting, economics or management studies.
What you’ll be learning
Along with your foundational studies of business, you’ll have a number of majors to choose from. From accounting to economics, banking to finance, business law to business strategy, this is your opportunity to get stuck into an area you’re particularly interested in.
Combined with your education studies, you’ll learn how to be an innovative and effective teacher, with the capacity to bring out the business smarts in young people.
Look ahead to an exciting career
With speciality business acumen, you can share your expertise with young learners, or look beyond the classroom to get involved in the business side of schools – such as in educational management and leadership, marketing or school administration.
About registration and accreditation
Here’s what you need to know:
- All primary and secondary education specialisations are accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) using national accreditation standards.
