    Energy Systems Energy Generation and Sustainability Track (M.ENG.)

    About

    This program provides students with in-depth knowledge of power engineering and the managerial skills needed to advance within the industry. Course topics include hybrid vehicle drives, power market operations, and power system transaction management.

    Illinois Techs Master of Engineering in Energy Systems, Energy Generation, and Sustainability Track prepares students to meet the challenges of generating, storing, and converting energy. Courses in this track include renewable energy technologies, computer-aided design of electric machines, and elements of sustainable energy.

    Two additional specialty tracks—energy conservation and buildings, and energy transmission and markets—are also taught by faculty who have set the bar in energy systems and will empower students to become the next energy pioneers.

    Admissions requirements ensure that incoming students are well-prepared and qualified to succeed in their chosen program. Prospective students must review each program of interest to determine whether they meet admissions requirements as outlined in the course bulletin.

    English Program Requirements

    International students who fit into any of the following categories will be considered to have met the requirement:

    • Residents of a country where English is the only official language and who is a native English speaker
    • Graduates of U.S. high schools
    • Completed the equivalent of Iowa State’s English 150 or 250 with a grade of B or better at an accredited U.S. 2 year or 4 year college or university.

    CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

    If you meet all admission requirements but do not meet our English proficiency requirements, Iowa State offers conditional admission to attend our Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP). If you would like to enroll in IEOP, on the application choose "I would like to enroll in Iowa State’s IEOP program before I begin the academic study.”
