    Become an information specialist in an information society. The study programme in Global Information Management combines information science, digitalisation and globalisation to understand the human perspective of technologies. In creating the ability to look at problems holistically and learn to deal with technology and people who are using it in a national and international context, the University of Hildesheim offers a unique and interdisciplinary study programme. Students will achieve skills like critical thinking, theoretical and applied knowledge in user experience, usability, basic programming of databases and networks and intercultural competencies. Furthermore, ethical issues, information equity and information literacy will be addressed. Information and knowledge management are getting more and more attention within all types of organisations, which makes this profile attractive for different kind of areas. In being the interface between coders and departments, Global Information Management students are able to communicate with both coders and departments. Additionally, they can use their competences and technical skills to manage projects. Therefore, IT project management is one job opportunity that graduates of the programme will have. Furthermore, corporate communication, online and social media marketing, software development, consulting, usability, e-commerce and e-learning offer great chances.
