The course embraces creative exploration and the use of a wide range of skills and technologies within design practice. It covers creative ideation, form development and product styling, usability and interaction, ergonomics and human factors, and also the production and use of prototypes as a part of the design process.
BA Industrial Design first year focuses on building core design skills and competencies in design research, ideation model making and CAD. The second year then focuses on preparing for placement and industry practice including modules in designing for manufacturing, prototyping, industrial design projects and generating a professional portfolio.
