    Overview The International Studies program of Northwestern University encourages and supports student's education and scholarship in international affairs. We are open to all Weinberg students and to students from across the university. We offer a comprehensive, interdisciplinary curriculum as well as weekly seminars, research support for students, career counseling, public events, and more.The Core Courses in International Studies are great gateway courses into the field of international studies. Rooted in the diverse methodologies of our interdisciplinary program, they will provide you with the basic theories which will underlie the rest of your curriculum.Career pathsWhat can you do with an International Studies degree? This is a common question for students at Northwestern or individuals considering the IS program. The options are highly varied as students have different focuses and the IS curriculum provides broad, interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. The extensive list of opportunities and possibilities range from non-profit organizations, government agencies, large corporations and businesses, to non-government organizations. Law and graduate school are common options to further your Northwestern academic experience. Other options include teaching English in another country or volunteering internationally.     The International Studies program of Northwestern University allows students to pursue a coherent curriculum that addresses global aspects of their primary major. The major and minor programs comprise a set of core courses along with regional and thematic clusters of elective courses. We also offer a series of capstone seminars where IS majors can develop independent research projects.
