    This combined degree program allows you to undertake studies in general business disciplines to complement your Master of Human Resources Management qualification.

    If you’re looking to advance your career in human resources and business management, this program is for you. You will develop skills and strategies to manage people, workforces, workplace conflict, and other organisational challenges.

    Learn to apply your knowledge within complex organisational environments to develop and lead high-performing teams, business strategies and processes.

    Combine this with a range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills through concurrent study of the MBA. Study fundamental business areas such as accounting, finance, and marketing for a comprehensive understanding of resourcing and operations.

    Our Human Resource Management program is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and is delivered by an award-winning teaching faculty.

    The core courses have been devised to focus on your advanced learning in the knowledge and practice areas of human resource management, including:

    • Human resource management and strategy
    • Organisation development
    • Managing people in international contexts
    • Employment relations
    • Negotiation and conflict resolution.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Entry into the Master of Business Administration/Master of Human Resource Management will be available to applicants who have:

    • Bachelor (Honours) Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification; or
    • Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a related field such as accounting, business, commerce, economics, finance, human resource management, industrial relations, management, marketing or social science; or
    • Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, not in a related field and 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
    • At least 7 years' relevant organisational experience, including 2 years in a management position.
    • Successful completion of 75% (30 units) of one of the following University of Newcastle programs:
      • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
      • Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
      • Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management
      • Graduate Certificate in Marketing
      • Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting

    Relevant organisational experience should be documented in a detailed CV and a Statement of Service from your employer confirming your role, duties, and period of employment.

    Overall minimum: 6.5

    Sub test minimum: 6
