    Master of Professional Accounting

    About

This internationally recognised master's accounting degree prepares you to launch a career as a professional accountant with just 12 months of full-time study. Option to take the CA Program (CAANZ) at the end with 9 months of further part-time study.

Why study the Master of Professional Accounting?

Waikato's Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcct) degree is tailor-made for university graduates who have never studied accounting before, but already have a bachelor's degree in another area.

This internationally recognised qualification will set you up for a professional career in accounting and as a future business leader. It is globally accredited by professional bodies and respected by top employers.

Depending on your career goals, choose either the 180-point Master of Professional Accounting programme (12 months) or the 240-point programme (CA Program) with a Chartered Accountancy endorsement (21-23 months).

The course has two intakes each year, so you can start in either January or November. If you start in January, the course will take 21 months to complete with a short break over Christmas. If you start in November, it will take 23 months to complete with a 2-month break over summer.

During your studies, you will develop advanced knowledge and skills in all the core areas of accounting, business, law, economics and finance, and be able to apply them to practical accounting situations.

Please note this is an accelerated course with an intensive workload.
