About Al Ahliyya Amman University in Jordan

If you search for private universities in Jordan, Al-Ahliyya Amman University will consistently appear among the leading results - and that is no coincidence. The university was established in 1990 as the first private university in Jordan and remains one of the country’s most diverse private higher-education institutions in terms of academic programs. It was ranked 803rd globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and has more than 7,000 students from different nationalities across 14 faculties. The university is located in Amman, which is a real logistical advantage on its own: the airport is nearby, essential services are widely available, and traveling between cities is relatively easy. More importantly, the university is accredited by Jordan’s Ministry of Higher Education and is a member of Arab, Islamic, and international university associations. Its degrees are recognized in Gulf countries and in many other Arab countries. Al-Ahliyya Amman University follows a credit-hour system, which means you pay based on the courses you register for rather than one fixed amount every semester. Annual tuition for international undergraduate students generally ranges from JOD 5,000 to JOD 8,000 depending on the major. But be realistic: medical fields such as Pharmacy and Dentistry are more expensive and more competitive, so you should not expect every program to be available at the lower end of the tuition range.
