The Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences - Technology and Business offers courses in engineering, computer science, business and media disciplines. The entire range of courses is assigned to six faculties: architecture and construction, electrical engineering and information technology, computer science and business informatics, information management and media, mechanical engineering and mechatronics, and economics.

In addition to teaching, research is particularly important. It is a core competence and therefore a profile-building element for the university. Scientific continuing education also plays an important role, with which the university fulfills its legal mandate.

The campus is centrally located within walking distance of the city center, on the outskirts of the Hardtwald. The expansion of the university and the expansion of the range of courses in recent years made it necessary to switch to other branch offices. For example, there are currently nearby branch offices for studying in Amalienstraße and Hoffstraße, and individual institutes are also located in Daimlerstraße and Hertzstraße. In Bruchsal, on the site of the former International University, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and SEW-Eurodrive maintain a research campus for electromobility, the Institute for Energy-Efficient Mobility (IEEM).
