The University is working in line with the latest advice from the Scottish Government and Health Authorities in order to prepare the campus to safely welcome new students in September 2020.Following extensive consultation with experts, wide-ranging measures to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission have been developed.
The measures include:- two free reusable face coverings for all students and staff- an enhanced cleaning regime for all buildings- one-way systems and clear signage to ensure safe and smooth movement around our campuses- observing physical distancing measures, including in teaching spaces- hand sanitisers throughout our buildings.The aim is to provide as much face-to-face teaching and interaction as possible, within approved Government guidelines. Nearly all buildings will be open and the aim is for every student to be able to enjoy smaller class experiences, laboratory and skills sessions on-campus, while lectures will be delivered remotely online.Start datesThe start of teaching for the majority of Undergraduate programmes is 21 September 2020, with Freshers‚ Week, including Welcome & Induction, from 14 September. The majority of Postgraduate taught programmes will start teaching on either 14 or 21 September 2020.
The University is also offering around 50 taught programmes to commence on 9 November, and a further 30 programmes have a offering a January 2021 start date as well as September 2020.
