Guidance and Psychological Counseling undergraduate program in the Department of Educational Sciences is being conducted by Academic staff specialized in both guidance and psychological counseling and other educational sciences. In addition, academic staff conduct courses related to educational sciences which provide a basis for all teacher education programs. Our program offers one undergraduate-level degree. This degree prepares our students for a career in guidance and psychological counseling within the context of educational sciences. The program is designed to enable students to become knowledgeable counselors who are qualified to conduct research in the areas of counseling and education, and skilled and proficient in issues regarding the practical aspects of counseling. Throughout the program, attention is given to both standard developmental issues and issues concerning physical, emotional, and mental developmental challenges. Testing within the context of psychology and education, and individual and group counseling and therapy are also covered during the course of the program. Our program also provides instruction in relation to general educational issues such as educational technology, program planning, and curriculum development. Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program is designed to help students develop professional identities both as counselors and education specialists. This multidisciplinary approach to education allows our graduates to pursue careers in a variety of fields such as mental health, all levels of school counseling, business, and industry. Graduates from our program are also provided with the skills to pursue advanced degrees in counseling as well as in a variety of fields within the scope of social sciences such as anthropology, psychology, and sociology.
