University of Göttingen in Germany

The University of Göttingen is an internationally renowned research university. Founded in 1737 in the Age of Enlightenment, the University is committed to the values of social responsibility of science, democracy, tolerance and justice. It offers a comprehensive range of subjects across 13 faculties: in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences and medicine. With about 30,000 students and more than 210 degree programmes, the University is one of the largest in Germany.

University of Göttingen Public Law Foundation

Since 2003, the University has been under the auspices of a foundation under public law. This foundation bears the name "University of Göttingen Public Law Foundation".

The Foundation Office advises and supports the governing bodies of the Foundation University in legal matters, among other things. At the same time, the office maintains important contacts for the foundation management, especially with the foundation supervisory bodies, the university public and the state government.

The task of establishing contacts with potential donors, benefactors and sponsors and creating a lasting partnership relationship with them for the future of the University is the responsibility of the Fundraising Division of the Public Relations Department.

The bodies of the Foundation University are, for the University, the Presidential Board and the University Foundation Committee; for the University Medical Center Göttingen, the Executive Board of the University Medical Center and the University Medical Center Foundation Committee.

The Foundation Council takes the place of the Foundation Committees in matters concerning both parts of the Foundation University.

Faculties
