The population of Melbourne descends of British or Irish ancestry, and some are reported Australian ancestry, and minorities reported they had Asian ancestry, besides few who are reported as Chinese ancestry.

It was established on the river of Yara in 1835 after the unsuccessful foundation of a settlement inside the Port Philip Bay heads close to Sorrento. The Port received its independence I in 1850 from New South Wales then Melbourne emerged  for the rapid rush in the north of the region in 1850 on the back drop of gold.

There were two men after signing the treaty of independence: Batman and another one called John Faker who resided on the river banks of Yara River. One of these two men was the founder of Melbourne.

The name Melbourne is given to the city in honor of the British Prime minister William Lamb, the second Viscount Melbourne when the new settlement in 1837 was granted its current name Melbourne.

    Living

    Living Expenses

Melbourne city is less expensive than Sydney, but still expensive for students somewhat. A student needs between $1000 – 1200 a month without rent, and if he brings a family of four, for example, he needs about $3500 a month without rent.

For students to live on-campus, they need between $700 – 850 a week. But bear in mind that your meal is cooked for you on a daily basis, in addition to including utilities, and your moving from one place to another would be less than you would like to if you were accommodated off – campus.

    Weather

    Weather and Environment

The summer days are warm and temperatures are moderate in summer and autumn, spring days are sunny and nice, with cool winter days. The city does not suffer from high levels of air pollution that we find these levels are in place in other main regions in the world.

The only environment problem is the amount of bacteria in the Yara River caused by septic system as well as garbage. 350000 cigarette butts engulf the water from time to time which has a bad effect on its purity. A number of programs are being carried out to attenuate river pollution. Melbourne, which needs protection and sanitation and cleanliness sustainability, is a nice city having from the banks of the Yara River to Urban forests
