    Acting BA

    About

Apply your passion and complete your actor training at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire – we offer drama school level training to mould you into a versatile actor and help you launch your professional career. Our acting and performance courses have been ranked 3rd in the UK in the Guardian University league table 2019 (drama & dance category). This course scored 100% for overall satisfaction in the 2017 National Student Survey. Our BA (Hons) Acting course is designed to develop you practically, personally and professionally and prepare you for this challenging industry. We have carefully designed a contemporary course that will train you for a creative career in front of a stage, screen or radio audience. You will receive specialist training in voice, movement and singing, graduating with the skill and aptitude to take on the exciting and dynamic world of the dramatic arts. This course equips you with the skills you need to become a professional actor; continually stretching and challenging you to reach new levels of personal achievement and self-discovery. As a vocational actor training course, full commitment and attendance for a minimum of 30 contact hours a week, for a minimum of 30 weeks would be expected. Our graduates go on to achieve success in all areas of the industry; on stage, screen, radio and through writing, directing, and forming their own theatre companies. We encourage our graduates to be flexible, adaptable and entrepreneurial; supporting them in developing the skills they will need in the industry when they leave us after three years of intensive training. In their final year our actors perform Showcases in both Birmingham and London which are attended by agents, casting directors and potential employers. They also perform in three productions in external theatres in the city, create a radio play, and produce a show reel of their screen acting work. Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is one of 20 member institutions of the Federation of Drama Schools. The FDS brings together all of the major drama schools that were formerly members of Drama UK.

    Fee Information

Home/EU - Equivalent or lower qualifications fees £11,590 Students studying Equivalent or Lower Qualification in higher education are assessed to see whether they are looking to study at the same level to a qualification they already hold or at a lower level to a qualification they already hold. Students categorised as studying for an ELQ at the Birmingham Conservatoire will be charged a tuition fee rate that is higher than the standard published rates. This is because in 2008 the government announced that it would no longer provide funding to support universities teaching students who were classed as ELQ status.
