You will study specialist modules in advertising strategy, media planning, creative campaign development and brand management and communication. As a combined Honours course, you will then select another subject area to pair with Advertising. There are a lots of options, including Marketing, Business Management, Events Planning, Digital Media, etc.
You will explore areas including:
- advertising campaign development
- consumer behaviour and insight
- creating advertising, PR and social media content
- brand management
- marketing – from basic operations to strategy
In your first year of study, you will take introductory modules that give you a solid grounding in marketing with some wider business knowledge. In your second and third years, you will take core modules to build your branding, digital and consumer knowledge, with option modules to help you develop your career interests. Options include content creation and copyrighting, marketing research, digital and social media marketing, international and intercultural marketing communication.
If you are looking for opportunities for travel there are short European trips, modules and schemes to spend a year in North America. In addition, between years two and three, you can choose to spend a year in a full-time, paid work placement, with support from the Business School and the University’s career development service. This valuable opportunity enhances your knowledge and professional development.
