Professional Practice
Students have the opportunity to undertake a six-month Applied Agri-food Business Project in collaboration with an industry partner after completion of their taught modules. The total duration of study is 14 months, and students successfully completing this route will receive the alternative award title of MSc Agri-food Technology with Professional Practice. The research project can be with one of the Universitys industry partners or with an independently sourced organisation, and is facilitated by the Lincoln Institute for Agri-food Technology (LIAT).
Students are expected to pay for their own travel, accommodation, and general living expenses while undertaking this project. Please note that all applicants will be interviewed informally as part of the application process, and students may need to undertake and pass an interview prior to obtaining a place on the project. Students will be expected to identify and secure their own projects. Support is available to those who need it.
Applicants who require a Tier 4 visa will be issued a CAS with the course length of 14 months for the MSc Agri-Food Technology with Professional Practice. The Home Office will normally grant an additional four months leave from the course end date which will mean students will have an expiry date of 2023. Students may need to apply to extend this if the course length is extended due to resits and or extenuating circumstances.
