Overview Indiana Law’s L.L.M. degree is primarily for international students and is our most popular graduate degree option. The American law program is offered by Indiana University Bloomington.The school opened in 1842 as the first state university law school in the Midwest. Upon founding the Law school, university trustees stated their intention to create a school that would be "inferior to none west of the mountains" that would prepare students to combine superior scholarship with ethics. 1 : LLM and MCL applicants who received their undergraduate education outside the United States are generally required to have completed a degree in law or a strong undergraduate concentration in legal coursework.Our SJD program is for international law graduates who already hold an LLM degree and who have demonstrated exceptional analytical and research abilities. For all programs, an applicant's educational history should demonstrate exceptional performance, based on factors such as courses completed, GPA, class rank, and other indicators.
