    About

    The Animal and Rangeland Sciences Masters of Science Program will prepare students for successful careers in fundamental and applied sciences, agriculture, rangeland management. Graduates will be prepared to address critical regional and worldwide needs to sustainably feed people, care for animals and agricultural enterprises, and manage 40% of both the U.S. and Earth's terrestrial surface for multiple uses and values. Students may focus on various sub-disciplines related to animal science including: animal nutrition, physiology, genetics, health, reproduction, welfare, livestock production, meat industry and food safety. Specific areas of study within the rangeland ecology and management specialty include: riparian ecosystems, ecology, hydrology, restoration, landscape ecology, soil-plant relations, rangeland animal and wildlife interactions, grazing and habitat management, planning, management, monitoring, invasive species, and remote sensing. Graduates are needed to meet the needs of the agriculture industry from farm/ranch to plate.

    Additionally, State and Federal agencies, consulting, non-governmental organizations, secondary/higher education/research, private landowners, and the energy and mineral sectors are seeking advanced degree graduates with skills and knowledge in rangeland science, and an understanding of the complexity of laws and policies governing public and private rangelands.

    Below are the requirements for international applicants:

    1. Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution
    2. Eligibility for admission with a 3-year bachelor's degree are determined on a case by case basis
    3. Minimum undergraduate grade point average (on a 4.0 scale):
      • 2.75 for a master’s degree
      • 3.0 for a doctoral degree
    4. Online application
    5. Official transcripts (statement of marks) from every institution attended for a complete history of your education. Certified English translations of all transcripts must be submitted. Transcripts must be requested from the issuing institution, in the country of origin, in a sealed envelope by the graduating institution. This is important – applicants cannot be responsible for sealing the envelopes themselves. An official English translation should be included.     6. Official GRE or GMAT test scores from an exam taken within the past 5 years (exam requirement and recommended scores are determined by individual programs)
    7. Official Duolingo, TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson, or Cambridge English exam scores if your educational history is from a non-English speaking country.*

      Do not wait for recommendations to be returned. Continue with the application process in order to meet your deadline.
    5. Complete a Paypal payment for application: $60 domestic and $95 international. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
    6. Once your application and payment have been submitted, you cannot add documents.
