    About

    This programme is one of two Top Up courses offered by the college in Animal Behaviour, Welfare and Conservation. Both are designed to provide clear career based pathways at BSc (Hons) level into key aspects of the animal industry. Core units on both programmes provide a fundamental basis for the development of skills and understanding in Human-Animal Interactions and Animal Behaviour, that are relevant to both husbandry and conservation. Alongside this the programmes develops skills for employment with the industry, or further study or research at postgraduate level. The Animal Collections Top Up uses specialist units to develop a clearer understanding the purpose of animal collections within current ethical, legislative and societal constructs. Alongside this is the development of skills and knowledge to successfully manage whole collections of species to maintain welfare as well as the other aims of any collection. Modules Students will study modules in the following topics: Individual Research Dissertation, Anthrozoology, Animal Cognition, Skills for Industry Practice, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Advanced Collections Management, The Role of the Modern Zoo

    Fee Information

    There will be an additional cost towards industry visits and study tours. Option to join 5 day field trip to Lundy Island estimated cost £275 Some day trips may have entrance fee costs c£15-30.
