    About

This program will teach you the basic biology of large mammals and birds. You'll study animal physiology and function, reproduction, nutrition, immunology, genetics, biotechnology and its uses with animals.

Many courses in this program have a hands-on learning component. You will have teaching activities on the Macdonald Campus Farm, and the Small and Large Animal Research units.

If you're majoring in Life Sciences, you can complement your studies with a Specialization in Animal Biology. Other students can take the same courses as a Minor in Animal Biology. This program will qualify you to apply to most veterinary colleges in North America, to study in a variety of postgraduate biology programs, and to work in many laboratory settings.
