Features and benefits

• The four-year placement route gives you the opportunity to spend your third year on industrial placement boosting your employment prospects on graduation. This may be subject to availability.
• You will experience what it's like to work as part of a professional team finding solutions to complex problems via group projects. You can also get involved with extracurricular work to further apply your skills, such as hackathons, gaming events and the Students Union Computing Society.
• This course shares a common first year with our BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Software Engineering courses, allowing you to transfer between these courses after Year 1 as you develop your areas of interest.
• We are investing £115m to transform the way we teach in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Opening in 2023, our new Dalton building will enhance collaboration between students, staff and industry and provide improved teaching spaces, including a new computing and mathematics studio.
• Our excellent facilities include teaching laboratories equipped with high-specification PCs with specialist, industry-standard software running on either Windows or Linux.
• Our dedicated drop-in lab provides an informal social working space with regular support sessions from our programme support tutors.
• We have a rolling plan of replacement for both hardware and software to ensure the department keeps up with developments in the world of computing and technology.

You should have the Tawjihi plus a recognised foundation or diploma (from a community college) or an Intermediate Diploma/Associate Degree.

• 1. Apply

  Apply via UCAS

  UCAS Apply is an online application system and is suitable if you have regular access to the internet. You can apply for up to five courses. That could be five different courses at a single university or five courses at different institutions.

  UCAS Apply is offered through schools, colleges or British Council Offices if they are a registered UCAS centre. You can also make an independent application.

  Manchester Metropolitan University’s institution code is ‘M40’.

  You should ensure that this code is entered clearly on your application form, together with the code for the course you wish to apply for. Find your individual foundation year course code on our list of courses with a foundation year or find an undergraduate course code using our online prospectus.

  The deadline for UCAS applications is 6:00pm UK time on 30 June. Applications received after this date will automatically be entered into UCAS Clearing.

  Receiving and accepting your offer

  You can log on to UCAS Track to check on the progress of your application.

  Once we have made a decision on your application, we will update it on UCAS Track. If we make you an offer, you will be able to accept it online.

  Receiving and accepting your offer

  We will email our decision on your application directly to your adviser or partner so that they can help with your next steps. Please inform them if you wish to accept your offer.

• 2. Meet your offer conditions

  If you have met all of the entry requirements for your course when you applied, we can make you an unconditional offer. You can skip to the next step.

  If you are waiting for the results of further exams or language tests, we may decide to make you a conditional offer. If your offer is conditional, you must email evidence of meeting your offer conditions to our admissions team. Please refer to your offer letter for contact details.

• 3. Pay your deposit

  If you have accepted your offer to study at Manchester Metropolitan, you must pay a tuition fee deposit to secure your place.

  The deposit is first of your tuition fee payments. It is deducted from your total tuition fees.
