About the course
This top-up course builds on the skills and knowledge gained from a previous relevant Foundation degree in Education Practice or similar 240-credit course. It brings you up to a full Honours degree in just one year opening up exciting career opportunities.
Designed for those already working or volunteering in early years settings as well as primary middle and special schools (for at least two days a week) this course allows you to explore a range of aspects of primary education including curriculum content and pedagogy; educational theory; and professional practice. It introduces you to the importance of research and enquiry within education and gives you the opportunity to carry out primary research in your own education setting. Throughout the course you are encouraged to consider how educational theory is applied within your own workplace.
Please note this course is not a suitable for those wishing to teach at secondary level unless you are prepared to study further units in your specialist subject outside of this degree.
