This 30-credit online Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition (non-thesis) emphasis in Nutrition & Wellness provides knowledge and skills in the area of clinical nutrition in addition to PLUS courses to enhance professional skills. Created to provide students with training in advanced nutritional sciences as well as professional skill development through the completion of PLUS courses, the Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition will prepare graduates to successfully compete for jobs in the nutrition workforce. The Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition program is responsive to the challenges faced by today's nutrition professionals and provides a path to advancement outside of the traditional, research-intensive M.S. degree.

Tuition for those accepted into the program is $650 per unit for both residents and non-residents. Do not use the Bursars Tuition Table.

The Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at The University of Arizona is designed to provide new insight and skill-building activities in areas to promote positive clinical outcomes in today's health care environment, including:

Metabolism as it applies to various clinical conditions
Research methods in nutritional sciences

Admissions Requirements

Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition program applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

BS or BA in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
If an undergraduate degree is in a field other than nutrition, coursework in nutrition, anatomy/physiology and biochemistry is required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA overall in an undergraduate degree
Additionally, because the program is delivered exclusively online, the following student characteristics are essential to successfully completing the program:
- A self-directed, independent learner
- Able to manage time effectively
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Able to utilize a wide range of resources effectively

International applicants to Arizona Online campus, Global Direct campus, or a Global Microcampus should choose the Distance Learner (DL) visa type in their Application Profile.
International applicants to the Main campus must currently hold a US visa that permits incidental study.
