    Course overview

    This qualification should enable you to broaden your architectural design education, complementing the knowledge of architectural technology with the potential to follow alternative paths in the professional architectural world, nationally and internationally.

    • This course is designed for you to develop deeper skills in the creative aspects of design in addition to technological knowledge. You should develop wider and more in-depth skills that are often sought after by employers.
    • The course has been developed with a selection of modules that introduce you to the various disciplines involved within the construction sector as well as the collaborative practices in architecture.
    • The course should equip you, upon successful completion, with the knowledge and skills that contribute to you meeting all Part 1 graduate criteria of the Architects Registration Board (ARB)1.

    International Pathways Programme

    International Foundation Year (IFY)
    Tawjihiya/Thanawihya/General Secondary School Certificate with pass grades.

    International Year One (IY1)
    Tawjihiya/Thanawihya/General Secondary School Certificate with good grades.

    Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
    No country specific entry requirement at this time.

    Undergraduate

    Students applying with an International Baccalaureate. Please check the specific course page for the points needed.

    Students who have successfully completed a recognised Foundation programme in the UK or internationally.

    Students who have completed Year 1 of a 4 or 5 year Degree Programme in Saudi with an average CGPA of 3.0 out of 5 or 2.5 out of 4.

    Students who National Diploma level qualifications High school Certificates

    The foundation programme is required for students who have completed Thanawihya.

    Students who hold Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or Central Board of Secondary Education.

    Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 79 and a minimum component score of 18.

    Top-up

    Students who hold an Associate Degree should have CGPA of 3.0 out of 5.0.

    Students who hold a Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 (subject to syllabus match).

    Postgraduate

    Students who hold a Bachelor’s Degree should have an average grade of 60% or above.

    Students who have an average grade of 70% or CGPA of 2.5 out of 4 for the Postgraduate Research programmes with a satisfactory research proposal.

    Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.

    English Program Requirements

    • IELTS: 6.0 overall (with at least 5.5 in each component area)

    If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme before you start your course.

    Upon successful completion of this course, you will be equipped with the skills sought after by many employers. In addition to being a fully qualified architectural technologist with a sound knowledge of building technologies, you should have also developed skills in the creative aspects of design and contextual studies.

    Upon successful completion of this course, you could find yourself working in architectural practice or decide to proceed to further qualifications on Part 2 and 3 of architecture.
