Art as subject in the Bachelor's degree programme in Special Needs Education (Bachelor of Arts)

    About

A distinctive feature of the subject, which constitutes the basis of the course structure, is the close connection between aesthetic/artistic practice and academic reflection. On the basis of students aesthetic experience, the course focuses on intensive perception training and experimental work, which are awarded double weighting. Students acquire their reflected and academically grounded practical knowledge by completing projects with different areas of emphasis. In the analysis of works of art, own artistic processes and their potential in interactions between theory and practice, students develop fundamental perception and design skills as well as the power of visual evaluation (visual, three-dimensional and media/intermedia). With regard to the potential fields of work after completing the degree programme, students are taught non-verbal possibilities of expression and the handling and use of image languages in different contexts.
